Another Surgery

To our surprise (actually nothing really surprises us nowadays when it comes to Ron) when we went to a follow up appointment for the second eye yesterday we found out the second eye that was getting cloudy he had the same type of ulcer. Fortunately, it wasn't as bad as the first one but it was getting deeper which meant immediate surgery on the second eye. Poor little guy has two healing eyes now and we hope we have caught and corrected it in time for it not to alter his vision. On a good note, his most recent blood test came back looking somewhat normal! So we are hoping for a speedy recovery and good news from here on out. After four veterinarians, countless referrals, and the endless costs for medications, surgeries and office consults, Tim and I have decided not to see the specialist next week. We have decided to keep him on his daily pills and monthly injections for his Addison's and take it day by day. We realize we can't keep testing him every week with no results or explanation in sight. Our daily schedules and budget can only do so much and go so far. Tim will be leaving soon and more often preparing for their upcoming deployment so we have had several long talks and came to a decision together. We are hoping for the best and believe that he can live a long and healthy life if the medication he is currently on is regulated properly and we give him the most normal and active life we can. We will still keep you updated on Ron but for now I can say that I can't wait to focus our blog on other happenings in our life, happy news and start working on getting him back to himself again!
