Getting Back to "Normal"

For the past two months and ten days we've lived in a hotel for half of that time and for the other half we've lived in our house with a bed and just a few personal items (our clothes, kitchen utensils, bathroom toiletries, etc.) When our moving company showed up this morning to deliver our household goods shipment I had never been so happy to see a couch or a chair!

We've been really living like the Japanese for the past month, sitting on the floor to eat our meals and watch television. The government was kind enough to loan us a bed to sleep, which we were grateful for, but we might have just as well ended up sleeping on the floor too, it was so uncomfortable!

 There they are...our life it in those four wooden crates!

 A Japanese custom is to remove your shoes at the door whenever you enter a home. It is considered disrespectful to wear your shoes in a Japanese home. Those poor moving guys still took off their shoes each and every time they brought a piece of furniture or box into our house.

Finally, our house is filling up!
